Rhodes is a group of vertically-integrated companies across single and multi-family home construction, commercial construction, financial services and property management. They have set ambitious goals to close 1,000 homes annually and to rank on the Builder Top 100 list by 2027.

Project background
With multiple brands across their group, Rhodes needed a digital strategy that would align their approach and set them up for future growth. They asked Dalo to audit the existing setup of their digital ecosystem and recommend a strategy and roadmap that would help them address current challenges, improve efficiency and elevate the end user experience.

Process
Our team assessed the technical setup and associated processes for Rhodes’ current websites. From a technical perspective, we reviewed manageability, code quality and structure, security and vulnerability risks, plugins, theme usage, and version control. This allowed us to get a sense of where they currently are and opportunities to improve the setup and processes for more streamlining and seamlessness across their brands.


Findings
The initial audit revealed several opportunities to improve their current setup, covering everything from improving security and access control, removing unused plugins and restructuring code. As well as this granular detail, we were also able to view the ecosystem from a high level and create a proposed roadmap and overarching digital strategy to guide future development.

Outcome
Based on our findings, we recommended a review of the entire ecosystem around their websites to build a stronger foundation and improve the user experience. We recommended basing the ecosystem on Sanity – enabling maximum flexibility and scalability to manage existing sites as well as add new ones in future. Our approach would significantly reduce tech debt, enhancing the buyer experience while streamlining their back-office processes, ensuring Rhodes delivers consistent quality across all of their websites: present and future.
